Studio 2

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba® program is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party™.

Zumba is a fantastic way to have fun and get fit at the same time. Zumba classes contain a variety of rhythms such as salsa, merengue, hip hop, flamenco, cumbia and reggeaton. Each rhythm will have choreographed routine within which you can lose yourself and have a blast!

Zumba ToningZumba Toning®

When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. This class will help tone target zones such as arms, abs, glutes and thighs. You can either use Zumba Toning sticks or alternatively small hand weights either 0.5kg, 1kg or 1.5kg. I have a limited supply of hand weights available if you would like to try the class before purchasing weights.

No booking necessary.

What is Kettlercise?

KettlerciseKettlercise is a total body workout using one piece of equipment called a kettlebell. There are 37 different exercises such as swings, snatches, lunges, pulls and presses are performed with perfect technique to help strengthen, improve core stability, fat burn and tone. Regular kettlebell training typically uses heavy weights, however, Kettlercise uses light weights and is set out in a non-stop routine that will work every single muscle in your body. It is very effective at toning the legs, bum, hips and stomach.

Benefits of Kettlercise:

Leaner body
Increased strength

What is Pump FX?

pump-fxPump FX is a progressive complete body workout from Fitness FX using barbells and weight plates. Traditional resistance training exercises such as squats, lunges, presses and rows take on another dimension through the use of functional, muti-plane movement. With an emphasis on intensity and technique, this interval-based workout targets individual muscle groups to improve body composition. Each music tracks targets a specific area of the body such as biceps, chest, shoulders etc with an abs section to finish.

Booking is essential to secure a barbell and other equipment used.

What is Hour of Power?

HOPImagine a fitness class that combined the mental focus and breathing of Yoga, the core muscle development of Pilates, the high-energy fat-burning of Aerobics, and the muscle conditioning of resistance-training…you are imagining the Hour of Power.

Why the Hour of Power?

The Hour of Power will allow you to achieve a high level of total-body fitness in a very short space of time, typically just 1-3 hours per week. It is one of the few fitness classes that is equally attended by men and women alike. It is also suited to all levels of fitness because the difficulty and intensity of the class is entirely controlled by the participant.

History of the class

The Hour of Power is the original total-body fitness class, devised more than 25 years ago in London, England by fitness expert Dragan Radovic. Seeking to bring a serious upper body dimension to the world of aerobics and studio fitness, Dragan devised a cardio-vascular workout that demanded equally of the upper body’s muscles as much as the lower. The result was a uniquely addictive workout which began to rapidly change people’s bodies and radically improve their vitality.

No booking required although light dumbbells are used.

Metafit is the original 30 minute metabolic workout that keeps working!

MetafitMetafit is a HIIT (high intensity interval training) class which combines traditional bodyweight exercises with the latest interval and Tabata techniques to set the metabolism on fire! The more intense the workout is the greater the calories burned in the 24 hours after class as the body returns to resting metabolic levels hence the workout that keeps working! There are various different workouts with different interval timings and is done to a great music track.  This class will seriously change your body shape as you tone muscle, boost metabolism and ultimately burn fat!

Are Metafit classes for me?

If you want to burn body fat fast then yes! As with attending any fitness classes, if you have any health or injury concerns then please consult your GP first. Each exercise has variations to take the intensity up or down. You work at your own pace.

What should I wear to a Metafit class?

Loose clothing that allows you to move easily. A good fitting sports bra is essential (as it is for any fitness class). Trainers such as cross trainers which allow you easy movement forward, back and side to side are ideal. Please try and avoid wearing running trainers as these are specific for forward movement only.

No booking required.

What is Boxercise:

BoxerciseBoxercise is an exercise class based on the training concepts boxers use to keep fit. Classes can take a variety of formats but a typical one may involve shadow-boxing, skipping, hitting pads, kicking punchbags, press-ups, shuttle-runs and sit-ups. It is a great stress busting activity to suit everyone who wants to enjoy boxing training without physically hitting the opponent making it a safe workout. It combines the use of both aerobic and anaerobic energy systems with the systematic recruitment of both fast and slow twitch muscle fibres in a manner that not only ensures a diverse workout, but also enhances sports specific senses, including hand-eye co-ordination, balance and timing. Boxercise classes are always fun, energetic and addictive. Classes are aimed at men and women of all ages and fitness standards.
